We work directly with weavers in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana. Thanks to this, they receive fair pay for their work, and most of the money stays in the local community.

The Story of Bolga Bags
The project was inspired by the personal experiences in Africa of the founder of the Empower Bolga Foundation, Dr. Jiří Blažek. While working on the ground, he saw that one-time aid does not help people in the long run.
There’s only one thing that works: giving people the opportunity to earn a living through their own work.
That’s why we partnered with weavers in the Bolgatanga region, where the traditional production of Bolga bags has deep roots.

Transparency and Trust
We are a foundation established in 2023 and operate as part of a public fundraising campaign. We work directly with the community in Ghana without intermediaries, so we know where the money goes and how it is used.
